Why Is God So Interested in the Process?

Let’s be honest—we love results.

We want the breakthrough. The promotion. The answered prayer. If there were a shortcut button for life, most of us would press it. Because it’s the result that feels good. The process? Not so much.

But God doesn’t think the way we do.

God is very interested in the process.

And here’s why: before He releases the blessing, He prepares the person. Many times, God has to work on you before He answers your prayer. Not because He’s ignoring you. Not because He doesn’t care. Not because He's delaying something. But because He’s preparing you.

Everything that comes from God contains glory in a certain measure. Because it's like His signature. And glory needs the right container. If you place something heavy on a weak structure, it will surely collapse. In the same way, if God pours out something great into an unprepared heart, it can overwhelm rather than bless.

Jesus said you can’t pour new wine into old wineskins. If you do, both are ruined. The container has to be ready for what it’s about to receive.

So when you’re in a process—when you’re waiting, stretching, struggling—God isn’t wasting your time. He’s enlarging your capacity. He’s shaping your character. He’s strengthening your faith.

The waiting season is not a wasted season. It’s a refining season.

We’ve all prayed prayers like, “God, why is this taking so long?”
“I can’t wait anymore.”
“This is too hard.”

But sometimes the very thing we’re asking God to remove is the tool He’s using to shape us.

Remember: Obedience always comes first. Character comes before glory.

We focus on the outcome. God focuses on who we’re becoming. Because at the end of the day, what He’s building in you is more important than what He’s giving to you.

So if you’re in a waiting season right now, don’t rush it. Don’t despise it. Trust that God is doing something deeper than you can see.

He’s preparing you for more.
